Continuity is published twice a year by the Center for the American Idea.

The object of Continuity is to provide a forum for historical scholarship consistent with belief in: the quest for truth for its own sake; the superiority of our free society to any practicable alternative; legitmate authority; and the presumptive value of tradition as the accumulated wisdom of the past.

We scrutinize the historiographical idols of our age, the hegemony of which has contributed to the current erosion of scholarly discourse within the academy and to the fashionable vilification of our country among intellectuals throughout our society.

We also publish articles and review essays that propose original interpretations of historical problems. Continuity's contents will be contentious while exemplying the highest standards of scholarship.
