Dr. Thomas C. Behr is Resident Scholar and Director of Workshops and Seminars at the Center for the America Idea, as well as Lecturer in Western Civilization at University of Houston, and in the Great Books at University of Houston – Clear Lake.  Behr’s J.D. and Ph.D. in Law and European Intellectual History are from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo.  He has studied widely in Europe, including three semesters at the Sorbonne in Paris as an undergraduate.  Behr conducted his doctoral research as a Fulbright Fellow in Italy on the 19th-century revival of scholastic natural law.  Behr has taught at a number of colleges and universities in upstate New York, and has been living in Houston, with his wife Francesca and two sons, since 2000.
